Hulk (also known as The Hulk) is a 2003 superhero film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character of the same name. Ang Lee directed the film, which stars Eric Bana as Dr. Bruce Banner, as well as Jennifer Connelly, Sam Elliott, Nick Nolte and Josh Lucas. The film explores the origins of the Hulk, which is mainly attributed to Banner's father's experiments on himself, and passing these genes on to his son.

I was going to review The Incredible Hulk but I had a very limited window of ambition to go see it...and that window has closed. Since, "The Incredible Hulk" nosedove 61% in its second week and looks like the hopes of a Hulk movie franchise are finally dashed....I thought I'd go back to that original misfire. This movie is defended by critics because...I don't know.....they care about all the Freudian themes I guess. Ang Lee is a great director but he is a little too introspective for the task at end. First of all, there isn't a ton of depth at hand b/c...The hulk is basically a rip-off of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The only difference is that the Hulk throws tanks at people while Mr. Hyde "buggers" Hawley Griffin (or at least according to Alan Moore he does). I really like the panel shots in this film. It felt like you were inside a comic. However, the major problem with this film (aside from those fucking dogs...Seriously?!!...The Hulk fights giant green Rottweilers?).....is that The hulk is unimpressive. To be honest...Lou Ferrigno would've been more convincing. Also, Ang Lee decided that the audience wanted to see more of Nick Nolte than either Bruce Banner or the Hulk. Not as bad as Fantastic Four or Daredevil (at least this film had lofty if misguided goals)...but still pretty crappy nonetheless.
