He co-wrote and directed Cable Guy, which I think is terribly underated and he was good in the pretty good Mystery Men. I realized most of his recent movies haven't really tested his acting chops, but he does well in well written movies.

I liked that movie where he was akward, because of a misunderstanding he had.

I have to give him an extra point for "..OBSTACLE!"

Ben Stiller has had some great roles and played them well, but his biggest downfall seems to be his script selection. I thought he was awesome in Permanent Midnight, and unfortunately, I am old enough to have caught the original Ben Stiller Show on MTV, which showcased his comedic talent yet unmarred by success. Even the movies listed by Mr. Bass (Meet the Parents, Along Came Polly), have some value, albeit not high. I kinda want to knock a point off for making a cameo in that Limp Bizkit video, but I guess I'll just try to forget that.

It was hard for me to come up with a rating for Ben Stiller. I think he has more talent than he shows. He was excellent in The Royal Tenenbaums. I even liked him in Reality Bites even though that wasn't the greatest movie. There's Something About Mary is his definitve comic role and he was awesome in it. Since then, he plays pretty much the same bumbling, accident prone moron (i.e. Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Along Came Polly) in every movie. It might draw some fire that I rated Adam Sandler higher than him. However, despite the fact that Sandler is basically playing himself in every movie...he tends to make me chuckle more than Stiller. It's unfortunate because I think Ben Stiller has more range and is capable of much more complicated roles. With that said...Tropic Thunder does look pretty funny.
